Entry #7: Getting Out Of The House Is Hard!
I tried to leave the house - I failed.
Some days I can successfully get out of the house with my infant… some days I can’t.
Getting out of the house with an infant is HARD! When is the right window of time? Do you leave before they fall asleep? Do you leave right after they feed? Is it better to leave in the morning? In the afternoon?
I go over all of this in the video below - but as you will find out, even the most perfectly timed days can end up with an unsuccessful outing.
While it is true that some days will be unpredictable no matter how well you plan, having some sort of schedule in place for your infant is very freeing.
I personally feel like getting a schedule in place helps save my sanity when in the very unpredictable infant world.
It allows you to begin planning things around feeding times, nap times, blocks of awake time, etc. I like to start putting a loose schedule in place around the 6-week mark.
